Hindsight

Growing up I used to hear my grandmother say, ‘if mi did know always come last.” Makes more sense every day. You see, at some point our past becomes that uncertain future we dreaded. And sadly, it is only in looking back that we see clearly. Then we wish we could go back, because now we know that all along we had nothing to fear. So, we start thinking that we should have taken that chance or we should have believed more, loved more, overthink less and we would have less regrets. True, because in the end, we become the consequence of our choices and too many times we are full of regrets. But, even though we cause ourselves to miss out on so much, the best part is that with each day comes an opportunity to reset, redirect, reclaim and be refreshed. This is a gentle reminder to myself as well because I too have come to say, “if mi did know.”
